OHNS Trainee wins 2008 Premier's Award
Dr Benjamin Wei has been recognised for his work on the link between cochlear implants and meningitis and his recommendations on how to prevent contracting the disease.
Dr Wei received the Victorian 2008 Premier's Award for health and medical research earlier this week. The award is one of the highest honours in Victorian medical research.
Dr Wei took time off from his surgical training in 2004 to begin his research at the University of Melbourne and the Bionic Ear Institute. He has since returned to the SET program.
