Event Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base Surgery Course (St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, NSW, from Aug 26, 2010 to Aug 28, 2010 )
The course is aimed at practising Surgeons and Registrars. Advanced areas of surgical management will be covered. There is a focus on integrated medical and surgical management. Modern concepts of airway disease, inflammatory processes and an evidence based approach will be discussed. Live surgery is planned on Friday morning. Lectures and discussions will prepare the participants for two afternoon sessions in the dissection laboratory.

Event Management of Dysphagia & Swallowing Disorders Workshop (part of ENT Instructional Week 2010) (Singapore, from Aug 05, 2010 to Aug 06, 2010 )
Dysphagia is an important problem that affects patients in a number of medical and surgical disciplines including ENT, gastroenterology, neurology and respiratory medicine. Causes of dysphagia can include head and neck cancer and its treatment, neurological disease, and intrinsic pathology in the pharynx and esophagus. Typically an interdisciplinary approach is required to diagnose and treat underlying causes, rehabilitate or repair swallowing mechanisms, prevent aspiration pneumonia and ensure adequate nutrition.

This two-day course is designed for doctors-in-training as well as specialists who are involved in the management of head and neck neoplasms. It consists of a series of comprehensive lectures and video presentations on the first day followed by hands-on cadaveric dissections on the second day. The emphasis of this Head & Neck Course will be on pathology, management strategies and operative techniques. [PLEASE NOTE: This course DOES NOT count towards Australia & NZ SET course requirements]

This comprehensive course on techniques of endoscopic sinus surgery is for both beginners and surgeons who have some experience in endoscopic surgery. Through didactic sessions, cadaver dissections and live surgery demonstrations, this course will focus on delegates acquiring a sound knowledge of the anatomy of the nose and the paranasal sinuses, understanding the indications and techniques, and learning to avoid complications of endoscopic sinus surgery. [PLEASE NOTE: This course DOES NOT count towards Australia & NZ SET course requirements]

A compact and concise two-day course offering the most useful and essential information related to this field. It will benefit otorhinolaryngologists of varying experience, from surgeons-in-training to trained specialists who wish to have more experience in otology/neuro-otology.
