Specialist Recognition for International Medical Graduates

International Medical Graduates (IMGs) with formal postgraduate specialty qualifications, seeking registration in Australia are advised to lodge an application for assessment as a specialist through the Australian Medical Council (AMC). The AMC will provide information about registration for doctors whose primary medical qualifications and/or specialist qualification are not recognised in Australia.

The AMC will forward the application to the Royal Australian College of Surgeons Department of International Medical Graduates and Assessment. The Department of IMGs and Assessment will be able to provide you with any more details you may require.
